FARMS, ORCHARDS, CA STORAGE, VINEYARDS, WINERY

Brothers Sandy & John Lawrence were amongst the farming pioneers of the Royal Slope in the mid 1960s, wild and undeveloped in large due to the semi-arid climate. Irrigation from the Grand Coulee Dam changed the landscape of the area to what we see now.

The Lawrences began planting apples in the early 1980s, with cherries coming along in the 1990s, followed by a controlled-atmosphere storage facility. The family grows conventionally and organically, and have evolved to farm a large variety of apples and cherries.

In 2003, the family began planting vineyard, and launched its winery, Gard Vintners, in 2006.
